About
I’ve always been fascinated by what makes people tick. After a career involving writing, editing, paper craft and clothes mending, this fascination eventually led me to my dream job: counselling and life coaching.
My work is shaped by my training and my life experiences. I’ve lived a rich, complex, creative life, having been through or touched by chronic illness, ADHD and autism, caring and motherhood. I love learning more about people and how we navigate life, through formal training, reading widely, and challenging myself with new ideas and perspectives. I’ve always been passionate about social justice and this shapes my work too, especially in the way I work with marginalised people.
I am warm and friendly, creating a safe and non-judgemental relationship in the therapy room. This enables me to be both supportive and challenging in my work. I support clients to grow and flourish on their own terms - I don’t set an agenda for how things should turn out or what clients should be doing.
As an ADHDer, and the mother of two autistic people, I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent clients. I’m also experienced in many other areas, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, long-term caring, adjustment to significant life transitions, and personal growth and exploration.
