Counselling and Psychotherapy

I offer both counselling and psychotherapy. In general, counselling is short-term work, where we focus on the current challenge or crisis you’re facing. Psychotherapy, which is usually just referred to as therapy, involves more sessions. In therapy, we address deeper issues like anxiety, trauma or relationship difficulties.

I often choose to use a Gestalt approach in therapy. I was drawn to Gestalt because of the way it works with your past experiences as well as who you are in the present. I believe that the key to lasting change goes beyond understanding ourselves. We also need to be aware of how we are showing up in response to life - to events, relationships, emotions and challenges. With this awareness we can decide whether to stay with our habitual responses or try something different.

As a gestalt therapist, I’ll support you to develop this awareness and experiment with new possibilities.
